The Inexperience of an Idealogue

As we enter the third month of the Gulf oil well disaster we see the ineptness of having an idealogue as the Commander-in-Chief. President Obama has NO leadership skills and NO ability to make the tough decisions. Even now, he is forming commissions to look into ways to clean-up the coast. He has turned down assistance from around the world - some that was offered within 3 days of the accident. When Louisiana's governor wanted to build sand berms to protect the coast, Obama sat on his hands for weeks, wanting to get environmental impact studies --- on the berms!!! WHAT ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF THE OIL ??? Then yesterday the ships that were allowed to begin the work were stopped for 24 hours - so the Coast Guard could inspect them.

We need every ship available from around the world to help with containment and recovery, but Obama will not wave the Jones Act, which limits us to using only american Union shipping - a political favor. This act is regularly waived during emergencies, including Katrina. We also need any and all type of filtering technology we can get. There are hundreds of people with ideas on how to separate and reclaim the water from the oil. Even actor Kevin Costner has invested 25 million of his own money into a company that has the technology to separate the crude. Still the administration sits.

Why not invite everyone who thinks their method will work down to the Gulf, let them set up shop, and prove themselves. If their method works, BP can pay them for their cost. Obama seems to want 1 method that would filter 1 million gallons a day. Why not 1,000 people that could filter 1,000 gallons each?

So what is their priority now? Not cleanup, not opening up land-based oil exploration or shallow-water drilling, but Cap And (TAX) Trade legislation. Raise taxes on everyone's utility bills and at the gas pump - that'll fix this !!!

He is so set on forcing "CHANGE" he will not react. As his chief-of-staff Rham Emanuel says " you don't want to waste a crisis". So the more oil spills, the more support he thinks he will get for alternative energy. He seems to think a crisis will suddenly make these alternatives appear out of thin air, and he will have saved the world. Even thouth we have only been working on them for over 40 years !

The Department of Energy was created by Jimmy Carter in order for the government to
spen millions - and now billions - of taxpayer dollars to develope alternative energy - will little to show for it. They seem to have had the same idea back then - restrict current energy production and the new alternatives will jump out of the woodwork. Instead we have gas at close to $3.00 a gallon ( which liberals think is too low since it is around $6 - $7 a gallon in Europe and we want to be fair ) and higher electric cost because the genuine alternative - Nuclear energy - was roundly resisted and other type of power plants restricted. California is so dependent on electricity from other states because they have not allowed a new power plant of any kind to be built in over 30 years. Why? It takes over 10 years just to get approval from the environmental agencies before construction can start. By then, the cost have escalated and the process has to start over. Meanwhile, Californians pay some of the highest energy rates in the US.

We must remove the politicians who can't see the reality in front of their noses, beginning in November and not stop until 2012.

Another RINO turncoat Rejected !!

Sing with me:

Na na na na,
Na na na na,
Hey Arlen,
Good-bye !!!!

The RINO republican - turned democrat Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania has been ousted in the democratic primary. The media will be in full-spin mode tomorrow claiming that this is an anti-incumbent uprising in the electorate, rather than people being fed-up with liberalism. And every pundit will claim that these latest defeats are "not a referrendum on President Obama" BULL !!

For years we have been told that we must support RINO ( republican in name only ) politicians like Specter in order to build a "big tent" party with broad appeal, then have these RINO's oppose the party in congress. Specter is a glaring example. He nearly lost the republican primary in 2004, and was angry that anyone would dare challenge him. Arrogant and selfish, when democrats took a majority, he switched party affiliation so he would still be with the ruling majority. Now that he gave Obama the votes he wanted he's thrown under the bus - just like anyone who might make him look bad. Obama wouldn't even appear for Specter at campaign events ( this wasn't necessarily a bad thing, as everyone who Obama has campaigned for the last several months has LOST).

Long-term incumbents like Specter feel entitled to their office, the power, and your money. They're arrogance is compounded by their stupidity, and fueled by the opium of politics - OPM ( other people's money )

Let's all work to see that many more politicians like Specter get there Arrogant Stupid Selves retired, then get their pensions cancelled. Then they can really experience this economy they help create.

Are you fully informed? - That's the question

Whatever happened to being informed ?

Growing up I heard some great sayings. One of the best is" Always engage brain before putting mouth in gear". I try to learn about a subject and think it through before giving my opinion. I just wish the government and the politicians within would do the same. Case in point - the Arizona immigration controversy. Attorney General Eric Holder was testifying before congress several days after condemming the new Arizona law and admitted he HAD NEVER READ IT!! The congressman offered to give Holder his copy to read saying " it's 10 pages - much smaller than the 2,000 page Healthcare bill". Holder said he was waiting for his staff to review it. What, his eyes don't work ?? The news media doesn't help, presenting the law as a right to profile and arrest anyone who looks Mexican. Not reading the actual law gives deniability to those who want to smear it and excuse illegal immigration.

We've seen this all too often the past several years - a bill that has to be passed now is voted on, then when the fine print is revealed the politician says" that's not what my staff told me was in it " or " I didn't have time to read the amendments before the vote" . Nothing that congress votes on is needed so fast that they can't tale a day or two, or even an hour or two, to get inform themselves before they cast a vote. In the last election candidate Obama promised that ALL legislation would be available for days online before it was voted on. The recent healthcare scam threw that promise right out the window, and many Democrat congressman and senators under the bus.

We have to separate fact from fiction by getting the truth for ourselves - whether we like the results or not. And we have to hold all of our politicians ( of ANY party) accountable. Every general election - every primary and caucus.

An informed voter is a dangerous thing - especially to a complacent politician !!

The Price of Betrayal

In the cover of darkness the U. S. Senate closed debate on this train-wreck called Healthcare reform. Once again, the promises of President Obama are ignored and forgotten by the majority party. We were supposed to have all bills available on the internet and at least five days to be read. This mess was being changed and amended in private and brought out to be voted on withoiut being read ( as is required in the Senate rules, but since when do liberals care about rules?). We were supposed to have all debate during the day on C-SPAN - not in the middle of the night. This is supposed to be the most open and upfront administration ever, but in reality it hides everything in the shadows.

Everyone from the President on down still tries to say this mess will cut cost and save money. Impossible ! You can't cut 500 Billion from Medicare, add millions of people to the rolls and save money. The savings cited are because the taxes start NOW and the benifits start in 2014 !! That's like buying a new car, signing a 10-year payment plan and then being told you can't start using the car until you make the first 4 years of payments. The worst part is, the government is ALWAYS wrong with it's cost estimates on entitlement programs - from Social Security ( which was to only be a "supplemental" income program) to Welfare to Medicare, and politicians always add more to the rolls and more taxes to the working people of America.

To justify the rush. they use horror stories that show we must act now, before it's too late. Like this gem from Sen. Reid "every ten minutes, a person in America dies from not having health isurance". Well then, that means that over 200,000 people will die while waiting for this healthcare plan to kick in. Aren't they worth saving? Doesen't he CARE ???

The truth is, they're making it up as they go, because they think that most Americans are too dumb to figure it out. This is caused by their own stupidity compounded by their own arrogance. Even in the face of polls showing most Americans against government-run healthcare and many so-called "safe" democrat districts up for grabs, they keep heading for the cliff.

Several senators are getting tens of millions of dollars in exchange for their support. The (so-called) independent Joe Lieberman got the public option removed ( on the promise of Harry Reid - which is worth about the same as used toilet paper ) and now liberal Feminist groups are attacking - his wife ! Senator Mary Landrieu sold her vote for $300 million for Louisiana. Ben Nelson got the Fed to pay for all of Nebraska's Medicare expansion.

These are just old-fashioned whores (although I hate to insult whores by comparing them to these politicians), out to get the most that they can. At least you can kind of understand why they did it. The thing that is really confusing is the senators that sold out their states for NOTHING. Iv'e heard over and over from Missouri's Clair McCaskell that she would not support a mess like this, but she just went along with whatever the democrats put in front of her. This is not the action of a whore, they get paid in one way or another. Giving it away is what a slut does.

Tea Party Thoughts

I've never been to a political rally or protest of any kind before, but I went to the St. Louis downtown Tea Party tonight in order to see for myself the mood and manners of the crowd. There were several thousand in attendance - many more (again) than anticipated. Holding signs both historical ( Don't tread on me ), humorous, and clever. There were parents with children both young and old. Children who brought their parents ( like my son did). The organizers invited all local politicians to attend, but not speak , in order to keep from making it a partisian event. Only one - Todd Akin (R - Mo) choose to attend under this restriction. Which seems to show that most of them would rather we be seen and not heard. The crowd was large, vocal, passionate and well-behaved.

As I returned home, I wondered how it would be presented on the news. One station seemed to have a balanced report on what was said and the mood of the evening. A second report was similar, but with an obligatory rebuttal from someone far from the event and using a personal insult that was first used on cable news - calling the protesters "teabaggers" and asking where they were for the last 8 years. My question for him would be: what happened to the liberals who complained for the last 8 years about the climbing deficit and national debt? Suddenly tripiling the Bush deficit is a good thing.

The cable coverage of events around the country was far worse on CNN. A CNN reporter at the Chicago event asked a question of a father holding his child and then would not let him answer before challenging him - apparently hoping to provoke an incident which would be used as an example of the "violent" protesters. And of course the use of the "teabagger" sexual slang innuendo.

One thing is clear - insults, threats and other bully tactics will not stop the movement. I quit cowering to bullies a long time ago. This is strikingly similar to the Clinton administration, who overreached early and lost the Congress at the first midterm election. The liberal leaders and their media support system know it, and will use any means necessary to smear and defame anyone who dares to speak in dissent. Of course, just a few years ago it was Patriotic to disagree with the administration. Now, it's Treason.

Taxes and Tea

Yesterday was "tax freedom day", the point in the year where the wages you have earned since January 1st equal the taxes you will pay for the entire year. Tomorrow is April 15th, tax day. And it is a fitting day for the next wave of "Tea Parties" across the country. These tea parties are grass-root efforts to get the attention of members of both parties that many Americans are fed up with the increasing tax burden. While they have a strong conservative base, there are people from all over. Democrats, Libertarians, Republicans and Independents. Speaking out in hope that some of our leaders will break their addiction to the opium of politics - OPM - Other People's Money.

It's a good life when you can spend billions, or now even trillions, without a second thought of where it comes from or if it's spent wisely. Lobbyist will lavish them with money and favors if some of that cash comes to their project or cause. Their fellow legislators will vote for your earmarks, and you vote for theirs in kind. The longer their in office, the larger their fortune. And to top it off, they retire with a pension worth more than the salary they earned while in office! Yet, they won't even try to fix the impending Social Security trainwreck. That would involve making tough choices, and some might get kicked off the gravy train.

The "Tea Parties" are a threat to that gravy train, and some in the press are already trying to smear those who attend. One cable news commentator referred to the protesters as "teabaggers". Another former cable news correspondent now working in local news in St. Louis did a report trying to link the organizers of a local tea party to the radical Constitution Party. He interviewed several people including a spokesperson from the Anti-Defamation League, but failed to even try to talk to the organizers themselves !! Maybee if this local news gig fizzles out, he can use this tape to apply for a job even lower on the totem pole of TV news - MSNBC

Free speech and public protest are fine with the press, as long as it's for a cause they support. Anti-fur groups who throw blood on women wearing real (or fake) furs, OK. Gay rights groups disrupting church services and hunting down Californians who supported the gay marriage ban - great. Protesting the death penalty fine. Thousands of illegal aliens marching through the streets waving Mexican flags demanding immediate citizenship over those legal immigrants who have been working hard for years? March on !! But a peaceful gathering to express concern and outrage over taxes?? No. These people must be silenced by any means necessary.

So go to a Tea Party if you can. Walk the crowd, listen to the speakers, talk to others around you. Then go home and watch the news coverage. And keep this in mind :

Those whose mantra is "Choice and Tolerance" are the most Intolerant when your choice isin't the same as theirs.

Who speaks for me?

Much has been made in the last few days of Rush Limbaugh speaking at the CPAC confrence last weekend. Rush speaks his mind without reservation - no "PC" editing here - and some think this is a bad thing. And liberal pundits and the DNC wasted no time in trying to annoint the "polarizing" Limbaugh as the new head of the Republican party. This seems to be right out of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals - set-up a figure to demonize and try to connect political enemies to him in hope they will bow to fear and distance themselves.

They call Rush a "pied piper" leading a herd of mind-numb robots who'll do whatever he says, a master manipulator of the masses. If he had that kind of power, would liberals be in control today?

They call him a great "entertainer" as if we should believe it's all an act for our enjoyment so don't take it too seriously. If it's just an act, why worry about it? Maybe they should apply that reasoning to Sean Penn, Al Franken, George Clooney and others.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND - he can't be both.

Rush is entertaining because he is passionate about what he believes. Mixing serious discussion of issues with irreverent humor, and never afraid to poke fun at anything or anyone. He has built a large audience over 20 years on the air. And all of the liberal pretenders combined can't come close to that. And over those years I have learned much from him.

That being said, Rush doesn't speak for me. Why? Because I speak for me. I'm a big boy and can speak for myself. I only went to public school, I may not be smooth or famous, but I can find a way to get my point across.

Rush does, however, speak to me. As an equal. Allowing me to take what he says and form my own opinion. Which is something liberals have a problem doing. They speak down to me. I'm just a unenlightened boob in "flyover" country who should take everything they say as gospel and keep my dissenting view to myself. Or better yet, discard my beliefs altogether and follow them in a show of bipartisan cooperation. Talk about mind-numb robots !!

Our elected representatives should be speaking for us, but the longer they live in DC, the farther they get from us. Then they rely on aids and "community" groups to tell them what the "little people back home" are concerned with. And it always seems to be exactly what the aid or group's pet issue is, or the lobbyist with the big check.

Instead of trying to compete in the open market of radio (where they have failed over and over), liberals now want they call a "level playing field" by imposing some form of the old Fairness Doctrine - requiring radio stations to carry an equal amount of all opinions. But opinions are like rectums. Everyone has one. Some are nice, and some smell really bad.

It's impossible to have every opinion heard on every station. So the stations that carry successful shows like Rush or Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, Laura Ingraham and others will have to either carry unpopular shows (like those from the failed Air America) for "balance", or drop the popular shows and go back to carrying bland , uninteresting, non-offensive shows. Neither would bring fairness.

Liberals need to learn a simple fact: Life ain't fair. Get used to it, because our Constitution guarantees free speech, not an audience. That has to be earned.
